Improvisation

Baylee has taken many improvisational courses during her time at Indiana University and at Dance in Paris through University of South Florida. She has studied with dancers, professors, and masters of the technique like Selene B. Carter, Clint Lutes, and Nina Vallon. She utilizes core skills from pioneers such as Forsythe and Laban to help create interesting improv and generate new movement.

Improvisational score from Maurice Causey’s Amsterdam Choreographic Workshop. Dancers: Baylee McAllister (in black) and Olivia Schmiedeke (2023). (Cover and Background Photo by Lindsay Osten)
